OUR WAR WITH IRAQ Part III!

Do you think it makes sense to wage a war against Iraq? Or are we positioning ourselves for even greater terrorist attacks, and world hate?

In This Edition: OUR WAR WITH IRAQ - PART III

-
Anti War Sentiments

- CONDOLEEZZA RICE, NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISOR: Her stand on inspections in Iraq. And also, is she really advising? Or simply repeating the same rhetoric we are hearing from our administration?

- The new 18th U.N. resolution for Iraq, or should I say for Saddam Hussein since he is the one we should really be after, not the country, they have no control.

First let me touch a bit on some world anti war sentiments.  Our administration is banging the war drum louder and louder with each passing day. Tensions are rising in both the U.S. and the rest of the world.  However, the world is displaying different emotions regarding this war, as we witness demonstrations of thousands of anti war protestors, not only in France, and Arab countries, but also here in the United States, in the heart of our country, New York City. Are we finally opening our eyes and awakening from the pro war hypnotic state in which some of us were in?  The proof is self evident, just ask the thousands who protested outside of the United Nations building this weekend.  However, as average citizens, stopping a war is not as easy as just protesting outside government buildings, or chanting outside of the White House.  We need the Media's help, we need influential people to lead this effort, and speak out against what could turn out to be the beginning of constant and consistent terrorist attacks against the U.S.

Many Hollywood actors have tried to lead this effort, but have faced a series of negative media attacks and labeled as anti-American.  How ridiculous is that?  Simply because you are against war does not mean or even imply that you are anti-American.  What is our Media's problem? Here we are facing not only security issues but also economic issues, and here they are busy trying to ruin some acting careers, and negatively impacting our economy.  The media is a display of both idiocy and intelligence, I want to point out the idiocy part, since it substantially outweighs the other.

Actors like Mr. Sean Penn, Mr. Alec Baldwin and Mr. George Clooney make movies which sell well at the box office, bringing audiences from everywhere and contributing to not only our entertainment, but also our economy.  Since 9/11, Americans have been holding on tight to their wallets and purses, keeping their money tucked away in super titanium alloy rocket proof safes, and not allowing it to swim in the ocean of investment or the pool of economic consumption and entertainment.  Certainly there are actors I don't favor, because of their acting, not for personal reasons, I don't know them, and neither do you.  Just as the Media can voice their opinions, actors and performers can do the same, it's called freedom of speech, we all exercise it.  We need our entertainers for both entertainment and the economy, so stop your nonsense attacks, actors are not better than you, and you're not better than them (this means you too O'Reilly).

Mrs. Condoleezza Rice, oh Condoleeza, stop leaning like the tower of Pisa.  From a certain angle you can see the tower of Pisa leaning way to the right, just like Mrs. Condoleezza Rice.  -dc

I know I have mentioned that left and right seems childish, but it also seems to be the only way to communicate with the parties.  Our National Security Advisor needs to start advising, not just repeat what our President and the administration say every time there is some sort of super power get together.  When can we hear how some of these government officials really feel? Here's the sequence;  the president comes out gives a speech, and then the whole administration breaks it up and repeats the speech over and over and over again.  Maybe we have too many people working in the government, they should create more regular jobs, instead of creating what I call government echo positions. Everything we hear is an echo of someone else's thoughts and ideals, it's 360 degrees of the same thing.

Fox News Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, in an interview with Tony Snow, Mrs. Condoleeza Rice says (picture shown above) "I don't understand how anybody can say inspections are working. Hans Blix and ElBaradei sit there and talk about the need for more Iraqi cooperation". How are not the inspections working Mrs. Rice? Where are the chemical attacks occurring? Where are the biological weapons attacks? What is it that you want to see? The weapons of mass destruction? Don't you know where they are? This is what our administration claims, so find them, you have satellite pictures of the mobile facilities, so get the inspectors out, and go after what you are so certain exists.  The talk now is that the inspectors were not sent there to be detectives, however, this is how the whole process was initiated.

There were not any precise instructions given to Iraq. The way resolution 1441 was introduced and portrayed, was that the inspectors were going to pay surprise visits, not ask the Iraqis to take them anywhere, or expect for them to do so.  It was all put together with the element of surprise in mind.  The Iraqis didn't even know where Blix and company were showing up.  However, since the inspectors were not getting anywhere utilizing this method, then suddenly, the administration and the inspectors claim that the Iraqis are not "pro-actively" cooperating.  They were not asked to! So why would they? They're following the instructions given to them. I am not here to defend Saddam, he needs to be ousted, the man is definitely evil, but our administration needs to straighten this mess up.  It still is not making sense.

One more thing, what happened to the underground facilities that Saddam supposedly has under his palaces?  The media showed this elaborate underground facility over and over again, and has not mentioned it since the inspectors have been in Iraq.  How hard can that be to find? Resolution 1441 calls for unfettered access to all facilities including presidential palaces, so why haven't we found this supposed underground biochemical facility? Exactly what I mean when I refer to all of this as a mess.

If the administration is so certain these weapons exist, then take your chances and attack already.  Resolution 1441 gives you the power to do so.  Isn't that what we wanted? So why are we allowing an 18th resolution? Heck, there wasn't even supposed to be a 17th resolution according to our administration, because we are so sure that there are weapons of mass destruction in Iraq that will be used on U.S. soil sooner or later.  So what are we waiting for? I'll tell you what we're waiting for, we are waiting to be sure because the administration is not, and all this so called war talk has taken a wrong left turn for the administration.  So let's get something done already! This is affecting our economy, our security, our jobs and our feelings.

Look! I am not saying that there are no weapons of mass destruction possessed by Saddam, but I am also not saying there are.  What I am saying is let's not start a new kind of war without thinking, a war of two worlds, the religious world, and the capitalist world.  Let's think humans, let's think hard.
